Frame Shop Lead
The Drawing Board in Montpelier is seeking a Frame Shop Lead to join our team.
The overall goal of this position is to assist customers in creating appropriate and inspired designs for their artwork, while educating them on the materials and services available to meet their needs. From there the goal of all framers at The Drawing Board is to assist each other using the skills you currently have to make production move smoothly, minimize waste and increase efficiency. The ongoing goal of all staff is to increase your knowledge and skills with tools, techniques, and resources.This position is full-time (35hr). See Job Details below. Position: Frame Shop Lead( Ideally 2-3 years experience)
Full-time 35 hours a week
A successful Frame Shop Lead is expected to:

Use the advanced features of FrameReady software (We will train you on this one)

Assist customers in designing frame jobs
-
“Put away” a job when it comes into the shop, e.g. find matboards, remeasure, label and store artwork etc.
-
Describe different types of mounting and glass and understand when to recommend them
-
Help keep the store clean and work areas neat
-
Answer phones and emails professionally
-
“Fit” and complete custom jobs including glass, backing board, dustcover, and hardware
-
Be able to do the following mounts to PPFA standards: drymount, acid free foam hinging, textile mount, conservation hinging, and sink mount
-
Assist in ordering to maintain inventory of shop supplies
-
Use the wall cutter and the glass cutter
-
Use the computerized mat cutter comfortably
-
Create the weekly chart
-
Take on additional tasks as needed to help keep product moving smoothly
-
Assist in yearly inventory
-
Use PPFA standards and practices - the shop has a library of resources available
-
Sit in on Sales Rep visits and other communications about new products
-
Coordinate outside services needed for specialty jobs, e.g. calligraphy services
Picture Framer
The Drawing Board in Montpelier is seeking a Full Time Picture Framers to join our team.
The overall goal of this position is to assist customers in creating appropriate and inspired designs for their artwork, while educating them on the materials and services available to meet their needs. From there the goal of all framers at The Drawing Board is to assist each other using the skills you currently have to make production move smoothly, minimize waste and increase efficiency. The ongoing goal of all staff is to increase your knowledge and skills with tools, techniques, and resources.This position is full-time (35hr) Also open to a 4 day a week postion (28hr) See Job Details below.
